Todd Hildreth, who has been a fixture on the Louisville music scene for many, many years, has been tagged with helping to put together and promote the first Outsized Influence Festival at Bellarmine University. Why that title? Well, because the folks who came up with the idea were interested in showcasing the various musicians who have come through or are currently in training in Bellarmine's music program. (Hildreth is an alum, of course.) The founders are of the opinon that those musicians have had a much greater impact than the size of the school and program would suggest. The festival is set for August 30, 3p-10p, and will feature three stages and fourteen bands, including Fire the Saddle in a rare appearance by the full band, guitarist and member of the Java Men Craig Wagner with a power trio and Small Time Napoleon, recently named one of the five best bands in Louisville by WFPK plus In Lightning, The Foxery, Dr Dundiff and friends, The Lauren Zoeller Band, Ed Monk, The Formalities, Zim Marim, Wilder Stallions, Kabelo Chriwa, Olivia Reed and Cheating Paisley.
There will be food trucks from the Louisville Street Food Alliance as well. All that and it's free. For more information, head over to http://www.bellarmine.edu/outsizedinfluence
