Awful puns aside, the Virigina pop band Parachute (formerly known as Sparky's Law) has moved along nicely since their opening record for Mercury, Losing Sleep, in 2009. Two of their songs, "She Is Love" and "Under Control," were used in a Nivea skincare national commercial campaign, plus they performed - along with the Jonas Brothers and Taylor Swift 0 on the Nivea-sponsored stage in front of some million plus people in Times Square, New Year's Eve 2008. They've toured with Kelly Clarkson, The Plain WHite T's, Michelle Branch, The Goo Goo Dolls and more. They are touring now in support of Overnight, their 2013 album, which peaked at #15 on Billboard's Top 200. They'll be at the Mercury Ballroom on September 20, with Matt Wertz and Mikey Wax, Tickets are $15 adv/ $17 Dos plus fees.
