"Los Angeles trio Foster the People – led by commercial-jingle writer Mark Foster, 27 – have been together for less than two years, but they've already scored a Top 10 album. Thanks to the hypercatchy hit "Pumped Up Kicks" - which has sold 300,000 copies and scored more than three million YouTube views – their first LP, Torches, debuted at Number Eight on the album charts last month." - Patrick Doyle, Rolling Stone.

Being an LA indie pop band with a writer who has gotten by scribbling commercial jingles is a pretty good path to a certain sort of success, if a hyper-popular tune is the first one out of the box. That would be Foster The People, whose first single "Pumped Up Kicks" hit No. 1 and garnered all manner of attention from the pop music press, plus awards  for Song of The Year (Billboard} and Rock Song Of The Year (WEAQ, SharkOne). That was in 2011 and now, with a second album, Supermodel, is leading the band on a tour that while stop at the Palace Theatre on October 20. Not a bad start for a baby band. Tickets to the show are $29.50 - $39.50 plus fees.
