American Idol finalist Josh Gracin continues his effort to establish himself solidly as a country music star, which, after having a number one hit, "Nothin' To Lose," back in 2004 off his debut album plus a few more top five hits, remains a necessary goal. (The American Idol success did keep him from getting shot at, as he wound up as a recruiting tool for the Marine Corps, until his honorable discharge in 2004.) His recent Facebook suicide note resulted in a short stint at an inpatient psychiatric facility, but he's back on tour. He'll appear at the Mercury Ballroom on August 30, with J. D. Shelburne opening, supporting the single "Drink It Gone" from his newest, as yet untitled record. Tickets are $16+$4.50 fee
