I have frequently asserted that Louisville music is appreciated much more the world outside of the United States, so here we have an example or two:
From a Norse blog http://hejven.se, a post about VHS or Beta
From a Chinese (?) blog, this post (mostly in English)
From ZMEmusic.com, a review of Phantom Family Halo‘ s Monoliths & [...]
The short answer to “What’s up with ear X-tacy?” is that owner John Timmons has two more months at his current location before he has to do something: move, close or renegotiate the current lease, which, he said, is too much for him to pay. The problems he’s facing are the familiar ones: the economy [...]
Forecastle Fest has grown so large so fast that we all fear it’ll just float away someday to a larger city with deeper pockets. In the interim, however, if you are a “regional musician,” you may now apply for one of ten slots reserved for the locals at the Festival. Here’s the info from the [...]

LEO posted their Reader’s Choice Awards. LMN didn’t make any of them. Sigh.
On the other hand, LEO’s cover [...]
The announcement of the Kentucky Center’s upcoming season generally goes first to the Courier-Journal, followed by the rest of the media. Andrew Adler got the task of writing it up in Sunday’s paper. There’s quite a lineup coming for this season.
In an earlier time, this item would have mattered more than it does these days. In any case, here goes (from Stereogum.com): “The 2010 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame nominees are here and progressive rock has finally been shown some respect via a nod to Genesis. (NCIS spinoffs have also been shown respect via [...]
The incomparable Cindy Lamb has a substantial write-up about the Alleycat Advocates fundraiser, featuring Love Jones, in this week’s edition of LEO. Splendid title, too “Kitsch As Cats Can.”
Bill Doolittle highlights the return of Elizabeth Futral to Louisville for the Kentucky Opera’s production of “La Traviata.” Futral last appeared with the Kentucky Opera’s 1993 [...]
