The headliner for the Fifth Third Bank Waterfront Independence Festival on July 4 and 4 depends entirely on your favorite music genre, as there is, as they say, something for everyone. On July 3, it’ll be Gary Allan, Patrick Hughes and Candy Coburn. July 4, you get George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, JJ Grey and Mofro and Los Lobos. Plus fireworks of the pyrotechnic sort. The 2008 Virgin Mobile Festival, set for August 9 and 10 at Pimlico Racetrack in Baltimore, has a lineup with something for everyone, including oldsters: Chuck Berry, by God, is on the list, along with Foo Fighters, Jack Johnson, Nine Inch Nails, Kanye West and Stone Temple Pilots; Bob Dylan, Wilco, The Offspring, Iggy Pop & The Stooges and more and more. Might be worth a road trip.

Don’t tell anybody I told you this, but tickets for the Insomniacathon 2008 will be on sale - unofficially - today, beginning at about 3 p.m. at ear X-tacy Records. Insomniacathon 2008 is set for April 11 and 12 - plus it will slop over into April 13 - at the Rudyard. Tell ‘em Ron sent you. Tickets will be on sale officially on March 15.
