Here’s the press release from the Ky Arts Council:
“The Kentucky Arts Council is accepting applications from Kentucky performing artists from every tourism region in the state to perform on the Kentucky Experience Pavilion Performance Stage during the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, to be held at the Kentucky Horse Park from September 25 – October 10, 2010. The World Equestrian Games are expected to draw audiences from around the world and the Kentucky Experience Pavilion is the hospitality center for the event, which expects to host over 60,000 visitors.
“Applications are being accepted until December 15, 2009 from professional artists and community or school groups in all genres. Kentucky professional artists, including individual artists, companies or groups in dance, theatre, music, storytelling or other performing disciplines may apply. Performers whose repertoire consists primarily of covers of contemporary music or songs that are not in the public domain are not eligible to apply. Selected professional performers will be paid $200 per performer, with a maximum of $1,200 for any group or ensemble, plus mileage. Kentucky community or school groups consisting of non-professional performing artists may also apply. Selected community or school groups will be reimbursed for mileage.
