Dylan, Mellancamp, Willie at Slugger Field

It’s being reported in various placesm, including the C-J that Bob Dylan, John Mellancamp and Willie Nelson will play at Slugger Field on July 8. The C-J asserts that the concert is posted on the Louisville Bats website, but a search there reveals nothing. Stay tuned.

Steven Curtis Chapman Wins Artist and Songwriter of the Year Dove Awards

Paducah native Steven Curtis Chapman added to his collection of trophies by picking up awards for “Artist of the Year” and “Songwriter of the Year” at 40th annual Gospel Music Association Dove Awards in Nashville Thursday. Chapman has five Grammy Awards and 56 Dove Awards. The Tennessean has details on the ceremonies.

Tim Krekel Update – “NOT Diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer”

Krekel has emphatically denied, through a close friend, that he has pancreatic cancer, as reported by J. L. Pucket in today’s Courier-Journal.. He says that the tumor that was removed has not been identified as any particular cancer, if cancer at all.

Lucky Pineapple Signs With sonaBLAST! Records

Louisville-based Lucky Pineapple has inked a deal with Gill Holland’s sonoBLAST! Records for a national release of their latest CD, The Bubble Has Burst in Sky City. Holland, a film producer, founded sonoBLAST! in 2002. The label has an eight-artist roster.
