The Courier-Journal’s Andrew Adler has a phoner with soprano Anna Shafajinskaia, discussing her role in the presentation of Tchaikovsky’s “Iolanta,” scheduled for March 21 in Whitney Hall, Kentucky Center. The opera is a joint production of the Louisville Orchestra and the Kentucky Opera.

The Blue Note 70th Anniversary Tour is coming to the Bomhard Theatre tonight. Over at the C-J, J. L. Puckett has a long feature article on the show. The eponymous release by Rufus Huff arrived in the mail yesterday; I put it on the changer for a spin, especially because it features Louisvillian Greg Martin on guitar.
