My offhand remark about the “steadily shrinking” LEO got noticed by the editor of same. He says LEO is doing fine, content and in pages, aside from the really, um, notable drop in advertising (and pages) in the issue between Christmas and New Year, which, of course, is the one I happened to pick up. I should know that that time of year is awful for advertising in the independent newsweekly industry. I also know that advertising sales are in the toilet across the board and readership is down, insofar as print readership can be determined, which is the point of view I was coming from when I wrote my comment. Here in the deadtree world, none of us really likes to see another paper shrinking.
In any case, it’s good to know somebody reads this.
