Angie Fenton at the C-J got the short straw to interview Bret Michaels about his upcoming show at the Budweiser LRS Fest on Sunday. Dolly Parton’s website lists a show for her at the Louisville Palace on October 26. The Palace website does not have the event listed. Pre-sale tickets to Parton fan club members are $85.50. The C-J’s Judith Egerton caught Liza Minnelli’s show and has a review. So you didn’t get tickets to see Vampire Weekend? Not to worry – the C-J’s J. L. Puckett did and he reviewed the show for you. Now this is a rave. Damiem McPherson at LEO reviews/interviews Crappy Nightmareville’s latest 7-inch, Nautilus b/w Bionic Pet Sounds. Martin Kasdan Jr goes off the reservation to write a LEO preview for Rachel Z and the Department, scheduled into The Comedy Caravan on Monday, Sept. 15. Jason Bugg over at LEO has his choices in live shows for the week. He likes Six White Horses at Cahoot’s; Tift Merritt and Love Jones at the Original Highlands Fest and the final show for Dead City Rejects at Headliners. For those of you who have wondered whatever happened to the BRYCC House, Mat Herron at LEO has an answer of sorts – it’s devolved into a hovel, a black hole, a pit. It’s the cover story for this week’s issue. |
