An article from the Canwest News Service says that the Canadian government is “secretly negotiating an agreement to revamp international copyright laws which could make the information on Canadian iPods, laptop computers or other personal electronic devices illegal and greatly increase the difficulty of travelling with such devices….The deal would create a international regulator that could turn border guards and other public security personnel into copyright police.”
The agreement would include allowing for confiscation and destruction of devices with infringing content. The entire article is here.

As this written at 2 p.m. in afternoon, it’s probably way too late for any tickets to be left for the My Morning Jacket show at ear X-tacy on June 10. But I thought it best to at least note that the guys are playing in town before their show in August.
Momentum continues for now at LEO, with a stack of reviews as their contribution to the music scene, including reviews of King Sonic and Marion Square. Mat Herron plugs an upcoming Bodeco show.
Over at Velocity, Joe Lord has reviews of the latest Will Oldham project, Lie Down In the Light, Ben Solle’s Learning to Bend and Your Highness Electric’s (formerly Christiansen) The Grand Hooded Phantom for a hat trick of Louisville music.
The LEO blog General Sense of Outrage finally has a post about the recent announcement of the sale of the paper to SouthComm. The blog post is dryer than dust but the comments are interesting. A check of the SouthComm websites reveals that their product is mostly Chamber-of-Commerce-ish publications - city mags and directories.
