Maxim’s Record Reviews: Who Needs to Hear the Record?

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

The national slick publication Maxim has apparently decided that they can just make stuff up about CDs that they haven’t heard. The Kings of A& R site reports that “In the March issue of Maxim, David Peisner reviewed the new Black Crowes record, “Warpaint”, giving it a two and a half stars,” even though the label was not providing advance copies and Peisner had not heard it before writing the review.

Puckett wishes he were anything but a music writer for the Courier-Journal and I’ll wager that the Jonas Brothers show on Sunday night was one of those times. He did the best he could, given that he is known for his love of real, manly rock ‘n’ roll. If you’re interested, you can read his review here.
