As Marty Rosen once commented to me, his college major was music and it really shows in his review of the Chick Corea/Bela Fleck show at the Brown on Monday. Better get out your musical dictionary, just so you can get a handle on his descriptions. (He really, really liked the show.) The consensus between the two ‘alternative’ weeklies is that the Shannon Wright show is the one to see. T.E. Lyons also has a big plug, plus a plug for the Dirty Guv’nahs at the Pour Haus on Saturday. (Lyons and Lord must be about the same age, with similar tastes in music.) Not a [...] Joe Lord has a phoner with Shannon Wright, who doing a show with King’s Daughters & Sonsand Tara Jane O’Neil at the 930 Listening Room on Saturday. O’Neil, of course, plays with Antietam and was in Rodan back in the day. |
