TVT Records, the nation’s top indie label with a roster that included Nine Inch Nails, Polyphonic Spree, Lil Jon and the Ying Yang Twins, has laid off most of its staff and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. FQMB.com has the story. The New York Times ran a feature on the survivors of the 2003 fire at the Station Inn in Rhode Island during a Great White show, which killed 100 people. The survivors have not done very well, despite the spate of benefits and possible settlement money. The alt-country publication No Depression will cease publication after its next issue, according to Idolator.com. The thirteen-year-old mag blames its closure on falling ad revenue and the sorry state of the music industry. Read the whole story here.
