Late night bar hoppers and those in dire need of a few sliders will be thrilled to learn that the White Castle at 1st and Market in downtown Louisville is reopening on Friday after a rebuilding project that increased the size of the business. It’s absence has certainly been a drag to all manner [...] Our Jazz columnist, Martin Kasdan Jr, who occasionally goes off the reservation, has a preview in the Courier-Journal of the Chick Corea/Bela Fleck show on Monday, Feburary 18 at the Brown. The irrepressible Marvin Maxwell of Mom’s Music appears on the Reed Brothers Band’s Insight cable show (Ch. 98) on Saturday, February 16 at 10 p.m. and again the following week. He has lots of stories to tell, some of them not suitable for children. The shows for this weekend have a consensus of sorts: both Velocity’s Joe Lord and Backseat Sandbar like the Louisville Is For Lovers Vol. 8 CD release show at the Pour Haus tonight, plus the Broadfield Marchers and the Blind Shades at the Nachbar.
