David Evans, who used to play with Ralph Thumas in Zen Penguin, has re-opened (so to speak) the Chemo Lounge. When Ralph Thumas was getting chemotherapy for the cancer that ultimately killed him, he would bring his guitar to the chemo therapy, where Evans would join him in playing and singing, first just to pass the time and then as a boost to the other patients. Last week, Dave told me that he was once again going to Kentuckiana Cancer Institute at First and Liberty on Thursdays and doing a couple of hours of music. He said that John Gage was also stopping in and suggested that other musicians were welcome and they should contact him about it.
