The Light Pick

As a dedicated StumbleUpon® browser, I visit many sites, most of which are of minor interest. However, I recently ran across this site: www.sclw.net/index.php, which features the Light Pick - a guitar pick that combines a metronome and flashy lights in a guitar pick, in several colors. It’s also offered in left- and right-handed models. I won’t go into the various options - if you’re a guitarist, you’ll be intrigued, I think, ’cause it’s way cool.

Bands Sought to Play at 1st Quality Music

First Quality Music, 7006 Trade Port Dr., will have free live music 1-5 p.m. on Saturdays, beginning on June 10, according to Larry Ferguson of First Quality and they are looking for bands to perform. The first act scheduled to play will be Mark Stein & River City Blues. According to Ferguson, a variety of styles of music will be on tap. Bands and performers interested in playing should contact Ferguson at 995-5651 ext. 7153.

June Issue Out

The June issue of Louisville Music News is out on the streets and in the clubs; Tyrone Cotton gets the cover this month. Cotton is a longtime Louisville musician who, perhaps due to his diffidence, hasn’t gotten the recognition that he deserves. With the release of a new CD and this cover story, perhaps that will change somewhat. Grab yourself a copy and/or read it online here.
