Bob Marley is long gone but The Wailers continue with that sweet reggae sound. They've been here before and have something of a fan base. There is another band called the Original Wailers, with two members from the original group, but this isn't that group. Head on down to the Diamond Pub on Barrett, May 23 for an evening of the genuine Jamaican sound, if not that other export. That you have to arrange on your own. Tickets are $20

Asheville's electronic rock band Papadosio calls their current tour The Future Forest Spring Tour, though whether or not they'll be planting trees along the way is an open question. As frequent visitors to the Derby city, they have moved from the Hideaway to Headliners, so there will be many tree-hugging fans to help them celebrate their future forest. They'll be at Headliners Music Hall on May 23, with Adaboi opening. Tickets are $15.

Abbey Road On The River, which began its run as all-Beatles all the time festival, has begun the process of morphing into a Sixties-era festival, though with the Beatles still dominant in the mix. The event runs May 23-27 on the Belvedere, in the Galt House and also in the Muhammad Ali Center. Headliners this year include Leon Russell, Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits and Peter Asher of Peter And Gordon fame, plus the usual lineup of Beatles cover bands, as well as some Louisville groups like The Johnny Doughnut Experience and several YPAS groups. They don't bill themselves as Hall & Oates any more, but it's the same two guys, plus a band. "Rock and soul" purveyors Daryl Hall & John Oates are headed to the Louisville Palace on May 28 for a very rare - if not the first - appearance in town. They haven't gone away, as have many Boomer-era bands; they've been busy writing songs, releasing albums and touring, plus making appearances on TV, including "The Daily Show" and "Dancing With The Stars." Tickets to the Palace show run $49.50 - $150.

Somehow, it seems odd to describe a subgenre of deathmetal as melodic deathmetal, but that's how Arsis' music is tagged. Started by a couple of Berklee School of Music students, Arsis has been successful while churning and burning through a loooong list of players. Currently, only one original member of the band, James Malone, is still with the group. There's a new album, Unwelcome, on Nuclear Blast Records, to promote, so you can find them at Diamond Pub on May 29, along with Esoteric Burial and Oedipus Complex. Tickets are $10.
